What I do
I am Nicky Mitnick, a freelance Shopify developer based in Dénia, Spain, and available worldwide. My Shopify work comes in two kinds: storefronts, where the goal is a store that loads fast, converts and can be found, and embedded apps that extend the merchant admin.
In both cases I build the way Shopify intends. That means Liquid and theme architecture for stores, Polaris web components and the GraphQL Admin API for apps, and Shopify Functions where the logic belongs in the platform. The next developer can pick the code up without first undoing a workaround.
Storefronts and migrations
- Theme audit, Liquid customisation or a full rebuild
- Shopify Functions for discounts, validation and delivery rules where needed
- Custom checkout work
- Local SEO setup and analytics wiring
- Migrations from another platform, with product data, categories and URL structure carried over and redirects in place so organic rankings are kept
Massage Lab is a current example: the storefront of my own massage studio in Dénia that sells sessions and gift cards, with localised content per service. Obie Plus is a webshop I built on Lightspeed in 2015 and am now rebuilding on Shopify, as one storefront for wholesale and individual customers.
Embedded apps
- Scoping with your team, OAuth and billing setup
- Admin UI built only with Polaris web components, with no custom design system
- GraphQL Admin API integration
- Webhooks and lifecycle hooks for products and orders
- An App Store-ready listing, or a private install
Probo Connect, my own Shopify app, is the example here: an embedded app that lets merchants pull products from a print-on-demand catalogue into their store. Merchants pick a product, configure the print options and add it to their catalogue. Phase 1 shipped on 22 April 2026. The Polaris-only rule paid off, because the app reads like the native Shopify admin.
How a project runs
It starts with a 30-minute call. Afterwards you get a fixed scope, price and timeline in writing. I build on a preview you can follow, and two structured revision rounds are included: one on the design and one on the working build. The store stays in your Shopify admin, so the day-to-day remains yours after launch.
Shopify projects start from €2,500 and take 2 to 8 weeks. A custom app usually sits in the range of 4 to 8 weeks.
Good to know
I work in English, Spanish, Dutch and German, and I reply within 24 hours, Monday to Friday (CET). If you are not sure whether you need a theme change, a Function or an app, send me what you want the store to do and I will tell you which one fits.
